The DfiD/CSO Working Group on Youth is creating a Youth Participation Guide for funders of development projects. To support us in putting the document together we’re running focus groups on different sections of the guide.
This is an opportunity to tell us how we’re doing so far, share your experience and apply your knowledge and skills to a Youth driven international project. SPW are running three focus groups introducing the purpose of the guide, its intended effects and some of the examples we’re currently working with. We want you to strengthen what we’re doing by contributing your time and energy for a couple of hours and to have fun whilst doing it!
The three focus groups are all over the next week and the themes, times and locations are listed below.

Calling all young leaders in Uganda and Nepal…
Students Partnership Worldwide (SPW) is seeking to recruit 2 Youth Participation Officers (YPO) to support the implementation of the Youth Guidance Project, which aims to develop, pilot and disseminate strategic advice and resources for Donor Agency country offices on how to meaningfully engage young people in their work alongside their core plans (for example, DFID’s Social Exclusion policy). The project is collaboration between DFID and a range of civil society partners, also seeking to engage a number of other Donor Agencies (including UNICEF, UNFPA & the World Bank). Project management is being led by a consultant working for Students Partnership Worldwide. It represents a strategic opportunity to engage with and support major institutional donors in developing a more effective approach to working with and for young people in development, particularly in relation to the three focus areas of:
- Governance, Voice and Accountability
- Post-Conflict Transitions and Youth Civic Participation
- Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV and AIDS
The Youth Participation Officer will work at least 3 days per week (at present envisaged as mostly Monday- Wednesday’s) from 9th March 09 – 28th February 2010. One team member be based in a partner organisation office in Kampala, Uganda and one team member to be based in the SPW office in Kathmandu, Nepal.
For details on the jobs and how to apply check out the document below. Closing date for applications is Sunday 1st March 2009.Read Full Post | Make a Comment ( 1 so far )
